Orit Cohen was born in Jerusalem, Israel. She received her M.Sc. degree from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI), Israel where she worked at Prof. Dmitry Gelman lab for the synthesis of new asymmetric C(sp3) metalated pincer complexes.
Then proceeding in the same laboratorywhere she obtained her Ph.D. degree investigating the synthesis and characterisation of new chiral organosilanes and organosilica materials prepared via sol-gel process. In 2018 she joined Dr. Yuri Tulchinsky group as a postdoc associate and focused on the synthesis of positively charged ligands based on sulfur compounds. In 2019 Orit moved to Hifa and joined Prof. Michael m. Silverstein group at the department of Material Science and Engineering of the Technion as a researcher to work on high internal phase emulsion based polymers. In 2021, Orit returned to HUJI as Researcher and student laboratory manager and joined the Nairoukh group. Besides teaching and working in the lab, Orit enjoys reading books, watching movies, cooking and visiting new places.
