Rajarshi Mondal is from Basirhat, India. He received his M.Sc. degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India where he worked at Prof. Debajyoti Ghoshal’s lab for developing metal-organic framework towards selective gas-adsorption. He then moved to Canada and subsequently obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Manitoba under the supervision of Prof. David E. Herbert in 2019. His Ph.D. thesis was about ligand design and coordination chemistry for application in materials chemistry and catalysis. In 2020, Rajarshi joined Nairoukh group as a postdoctoral fellow and currently he is working on understanding the conformational behaviour of fluorinated aliphatic heterocycles. Besides developing new molecules, Rajarshi enjoys watching movies and cricket (cheering for Indian cricket team!), visiting new places, photography and cooking spicy Indian food.
